The Legends program was created out of a need to recognize the contributions of individuals in the firearms and hunting industry who have worked tirelessly for the betterment of the industry, often behind the scenes. Many of them have dedicated decades of their lives and countless hours to the hunting and firearm industry and community, yet their efforts have largely gone unnoticed.
The Legends Program changes that by providing a platform for recognition. Through this initiative, the CSAAA has established a Hall of Fame and organizes banquets where these legends are honoured.
This has been well-received, with the Legends Awards induction and recognition dinners providing a platform to acknowledge these industry stakeholders. Without the contributions of these passionate men and women, the industry and hunting community might not be where it is today.
Now, fundraising has always been a vital aspect of the CSAAA’s operations. Traditionally, trade shows were the primary source of fundraising. However, with the changing landscape of information distribution and industry dynamics, the value of trade shows isn’t what it used to be for a non-profit organization.
The silent and live auctions held at the CSAAA Legends Awards Banquets have become a vital source of funding, replacing the traditional trade show model. While celebrating the industry’s pioneers and raising funds in the process, the CSAAA has found a way to keep its operations sustainable while also paying tribute to those who have shaped the industry.
The Legends Program ensures that the contributions of industry legends are not forgotten while also securing the resources needed to face the challenges ahead as CSAAA continues working to protect and promote Canada’s hunting and firearm industry.
