[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Just prior to the summer shut down of Parliament, the Liberal Government quickly tabled regulations to enact Bill C-71 including regulations affecting business owners. The regulations are open for consultation until July 26 and the Government is hoping to have them take effect as early as September. The quickly drafted regulations include very little information on how the regulations will be implemented or how business owners are expected to prove compliance.
The CSAAA has been asked to provide feedback on the regulations as part of the consultation process; however, the vagueness of the document almost implies we are supposed to give the Government instructions on how to make this work. The idea of helping the Government implement these new regulations is somewhat disturbing to the Board and we are in the process of considering our response. Feedback from the business community is needed.
