We are excited to share that the development of a Gunsmithing Program at Georgian College is progressing well! The college is now reviewing the resources and documents our gunsmithing committee provided, but to help fast-track the program’s launch, the coordinator needs direct input from the industry.

The program coordinator has requested that as many industry partners as possible contact the college to emphasize the demand for this program. We are asking businesses like yours to send a brief email to the program assistants:

Candice Niosi – [email protected]
Sarah Pendlebury – [email protected]

When reaching out, consider including one or more of the following key points:

  • Ask about the program’s timeline – When is it expected to launch?
  • Provide objective data on the industry’s need for a gunsmithing program.
  • Highlight its importance for Indigenous communities and share any relevant resources.
  • Explain the need for skilled gunsmiths in domestic and/or international markets.

CSAAA and our Gunsmithing Committee is also preparing a collective statement of interest, so any input or insights from your business would be incredibly valuable. Feel free to reach out with any thoughts, data, or feedback you’d like to share.

Your support will make a difference in ensuring this much-needed program becomes a reality. Thank you for taking a few moments to help move this forward!
